Berhampur University M.Phil & Ph.D. Admission 2023 

The University offers an M.Phil course of one-year duration comprising of two semesters. The eligibility criteria is that the candidates must have passed the master's degree with minimum marks of 55% marks and 50% marks for reserved category from a recognized University. Candidates have to complete the course work in the first semester as prescribed by the University. Berhampur University offers three-year degree courses in Arts, Science & Commerce streams under the department of Distance Education.  The eligibility criteria is that the candidates must have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board. Berhampur University Distance Education MA, M.Sc, MBA, MCA & LL.M

Berhampur University provides distance education by Harihar Mardaraj Distance Education Centre (HM-DCE)  provides the following courses via distance mode of education. The eligibility criteria is that the candidates must have scored at least 200 marks in the concerned subject as Gen/Hons/Major Elective at Degree level. For other courses, a bachelor's degree is required. The other details related to distance education can be found below:

• Entrance Test for MBA which would test the areas such as, General Awareness, Comprehension, Expression and Communication, Numerical Ability & Analysis and Interpretation.

Documents Required For Distance Education

Students have to produce the below-listed documents to avail admission in PG Distance Programs:

• School / College Leaving Certificate (To be returned in original after verification).
• Code of Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended (To be returned in original after verification).
• High School or equivalent Certificate and Mark Sheet.
• 10+2 Certificate and Marks Sheet.
• Berhampur University Registration Number (If registered under Berhampur University)
• Migration Certificate in Original (For students other than the Berhampur University).
• Two passport size photographs duly attested in addition to the photographs posted on the Application Form and one stamp size photograph to be submitted on the date of Spot Admission for the Identity Card. 
• Ten self-addressed not stamped envelopes of size 12” ´ 5” cm.
• Permission letter from the employer (if employed)
• Caste Certificate. (if any)
• The Identity Card with stamp size photograph pasted at the space provided and duly signed by the candidate.
• One set of attested copies of all the above documents signed by the candidate must be submitted including a xerox copy of the payment of the admission fees.

Harihar Mardaraj Distance Education Centre (HM-DCE)

The Distance Education Centre of Berhampur University was named after the late Raja Saheb Harihara Mardaraj of the Khallikote in the district of Ganjam. This distance education center came into existence in the year 1987 and now offers a total number of 28 under-graduate/post-graduate and professional courses. It has made provisions for contact classes by providing post-graduate, professional, and undergraduate courses with a minimum strength of 25 candidates in a particular subject. Admission strength in all courses offered by the Centre has been increased. An Advisory Committee headed by the Director acts as a policy-making body of the Centre. The Centre aims at providing higher education to all the candidates without any discrimination on the basis of age and sex, in-service persons, handicapped candidates or those who are residing in remote areas. Applicants who fail to get a seat in a College can also utilize the opportunity and acquire higher qualifications through distance mode.

Application Fee

• Candidates who are applying for MBA courses have to pay the application fee of Rs. 800/- to the University.
•  In the case of the UG Distance course from The Harihar Mardaraj Distance Education Centre (HM-DCE) If a student intends to pursue General or Honors, he can do so by the permission of the Department of Distance Education on payment of Rs.1000/- as part of the application fee within 30 days from the last date of admission.
• In the case of the PG Distance education course through The Harihar Mardaraj Distance Education Centre (HM-DCE) Students have to pay the application fee of Rs. 300/-by visiting to the official website of SBI followed by the “State Bank Collect” link. Students can also pay the fee through cash or DD drawn on the SBI branch.
